Upgrading The Children Room
We all hope that babies can remain cuddly and cute all the time. But as parents know well, children grow up fast. One great thing that a parent can do when he notices these changes is to suggest a total makeover for the nursery. The ideal time to do this is before your child reaches middle school. Read on for more tips…
A home improvement project like this need not be expensive. To save money, you can construct some of the furnitures yourself, like the study table, the computer table, the bed frame and the cabinets. You can DIY almost anything these days, with kits for loft beds, bed frames, cabinets and study tables available in almost all hardware shops. Plan ahead and have your handyman weekend with your family.
Space saving furniture and appliances will be best for your child’s room. Give him enough space to play in, and enough surfaces for his old toys.
Loft Beds
With a loft bed in place, you can create a study area underneath while your child sleeps on the elevated bunk bed. To build a loft bed, you will need a kit and a lot of patience when trying to find the best position for the bed. Assembling the bed inside the room is preferable to assembling it outside the room and hoping that the finished product will fit through the door frame.
A good suggestion is to have remote control ceiling fan as a sleeping solution.
Folding Chairs and Table
Childhood friends and classmates will be dropping by after school or during the weekends. That’s why you need to make sure that your son’s room is a place where he can socialize. You can install folding tables and chairs for this purpose. This is also to conserve floor space just in case the kids want to sit in front of the console or create their projects on the floor.
Computer Table and Study Table
It’s difficult to make assignments when the only desk inside your child’s room has a computer monitor on it. Your kid might prefer his own work table for doing homework or coloring instead of the dining room table. Because of this, a separate table for homeworks is recommended.
Ceiling Fans
Plain, thin-blade ceiling fans are functional as well as economical. Save the large, ornate types for the living room. Quiet fans that do the job without disturbing the inhabitant of the room are ideal. A remote control ceiling fan can also be a good consideration.
You can start teaching your child how to be independent by leaving the wall decorating up to him. Keep the walls bare so he can mount posters of his favorite cartoon characters or idols.
